2010 IACC&T Youth Camp
Conducted on: 28th and 29th June at Temple
On June 28th and 29th the Indo-American Cultural Center and Temple hosted its 2nd annual Youth Religious Camp, hosting about 25 students from ages 4 to 12. Students participated in many activities, including lectures on Hinduism and religion given by Dr. Sunder Hattangadi. Mr. Sudhir Reddy led yoga sessions, Dr. Damodhar Golhar led a meditation session, and pranayama sessions were led by Shruti and Saraswati Sabbani as well as Vevake Tandon. With the help of volunteers, participants also performed skits based on Hindu mythology and created clay sculptures of the God of removing obstacles, Ganesha.
The camp was organized for the past two years by Ashwin Sabbani, a current Wayne State medical student and Harper Creek graduate.
Several volunteers from the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo community helped greatly in running the camp, including Saraswati Sabbani, Janaki Sunkara, Lina Hattangadi, Swarun Valvani, Mughda Thote, Pranitha Majmudhar, Karuna Khanal , Renu Dubey and teen volunteers including Gnyapti Majmudhar, Shilpa Sabbani, Ansh Chaudhary, Pranit Sunkara, James Kayany and Vevake Tandon. Overall the camp was a great success, in large part due to the enthusiasm of the students involved.
Thank You All !!!!
