Temple Events
HAPPY NEW YEAR
On behalf of the Board, we wish you and your family a very Happy New Year. With your generosity and
support, IACCT had another productive year with several festivals including a grand Kumkuma Archana and
Homa program. We are confident that you are enjoying the programs offered by the temple.
The time has come to start our campaign for IACCT Annual membership dues for 2012. We urge all of you to
become a member or renew your membership today and show your continued support for IACCT. The current
membership dues, unchanged from past several years, are: $150.00 per family, $75.00 for single members
and $25.00 per full time student or student family enrolled in an educational institution. Your annual
membership dues partially provide revenue for operational expenses for the temple.
Through your membership dues, we can continue to provide a multitude of functions at the temple, including,
but not limited to temple sponsored functions, regular satsangs and bhajans, keeping temple open during
normal hours, providing pooja services, Bal Vikas program, Youth Group activities, publication and mailing of
newsletters, regular maintenance of the temple facilities, and many other activities. Our thanks to all those who
have already paid their annual membership dues for 2012.
Please send in your tax deductible contributions for 2012. Please make the check payable to Indo-
American Cultural Center & Temple or IACCT. Your 2012 membership will become effective January
2012. Please fill in the information to ensure that your name, address, phone number and/or other
information are correctly listed in the directory or on the address label. Please include your e-mail for
newsletter delivery. If you like, you may charge the dues to your Credit Card.
RENOVATION PROJECT
We are thankful to all those who have come forward or continued with their generous support for renovation or other functions. It
should not come as a surprise that current state of economy has made it more difficult to raise and/or receive funds. We had hoped to
raise funds to FULLY fund the Deity Installation and Temple Renovation (DITR) project by now. However, we are still short of
funds, but we have absolutely no doubt that community members will ultimately support the temple.
As previously announced, we plan to recognize all DITR contributors with a total pledge or donation of $250 or more (including past
DITR contributions) in various categories all the way up to $25,000 or more, by having their names on a plaque. Pledged donations
could be paid up in installments in 2011 or 2012 or until the IACCT announces the full collection of all funds needed to support the
projects.
The renovation project, extra maintenance, landscaping, and recent parking lot expansion have had an enormous impact on IACCT
treasury. In addition we currently have $50,000 mortgage loan on the temple owned property at 2003 Lansing Avenue. Our goal is to
continue our efforts to raise funds to pay off all our debt and to build the needed reserves for future.
Please contribute generously. Please send your tax deductible donation check or pledges to Indo-American Cultural Center &
Temple, 2002 Ramona Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49002. No amount of donation is too small.
WHO CAN BUY FOOD FOR A FRACTION OF A DOLLAR PER POUND TO FEED
THE HUNGRY?
Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes can buy almost 1,000 lbs of food to feed
the hungry for $250. You can indeed make a difference by donating cash to Loaves and
Fishes. Every dollar you donate allows them to buy a whole lot of food as compared to any
one of us can. The Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes is a food bank that provides free, nutritious
meals and support services in a dignified, safe, and caring environment. It provides these
services to all needy individuals, with special concern for families and senior citizens. It also
supports the soup kitchen at Ministry with Community and Gospel Mission. Your donation
allows you to take a tax credit from the State of Michigan up to $200 tax credit for a donation
of $400 (Married Filing Jointly). In effect your gift cost you less than half of what you
donate up to $400. Please make checks payable to the Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes and
give them to Panditji or Shri Valvani. We will collect and mail the checks to Kalamazoo
Loaves & Fishes. Your cancelled check will serve as your receipt.
